Changing the Course of Traditional Leadership
In this edition “World’s Inspiring Women Leaders Making a Mark in 2024”, World’s Leaders features woman leaders from various sectors which are thriving in leadership and leading with best practices and strategies to take their idea into action. The cover features Grace Asibi, CEO of ER Fashion, spent years refining her design skills and gaining valuable industry experience before founding ER Fashion. She worked with established fashion houses, learning about design intricacies, production, and the business aspects. However, despite appreciating the technical aspects, she felt something was missing – the soul, the story. Grace yearned for a platform to showcase the beauty and depth of African culture through fashion, leading to the conception of ER Fashion.
ER Fashion didn’t arise from a mere desire to create another luxury brand; it emerged from a profound personal connection to Grace’s heritage and a dissatisfaction with the fashion world’s lack of representation. Witnessing Ghana’s rich cultural tapestry ignited a passion to celebrate these traditions globally. Yet, many luxury fashion houses offered a generic, Eurocentric aesthetic. Grace aimed to establish a space where African heritage wasn’t just an embellishment but the very essence of the design. This became the cornerstone upon which ER Fashion was built.
