Women’s representation in the healthcare industry is still higher than in other industries, yet top positions in healthcare organizations are still underrepresented by women. Women in the healthcare industry seem to be experiencing more severe issues than women in other industries. They report feeling more pressure to prioritize work over family, have less possibilities to work remotely, and appear to be “pushing through” fatigue and missing fewer workdays. While this may have been applauded during emergency situations, leaders and organizations may assess ways to support women in the healthcare industry while they refuel. If not, they could discover that women’s struggles to become senior executives in the healthcare industry are associated with, if not directly caused by, the pandemic’s obstacles. “World’s Most Influential Leaders Inspiring The Healthcare World, 2024” has featured many inspiring names from healthcare sector like Phyllis Peoples who have a clear vision, be able to identify areas of weakness, and develop thorough plans of action that will gradually fight them as well.
