Taiga Motors Corporation, a leading electric off-road vehicle manufacturer, announced today that it has completed production of its first customer-ready electric snowmobiles and is working with regulatory agencies on final approvals so that pre-order customers can receive their snowmobiles in early 2022.
“Today represents the shared dream and vision of our entire organization coming to life as the first snowmobiles come off the production line. I am proud of the demonstrated ability and perseverance from employees who together have overcome challenges as we navigate unprecedented supply chain volatility,” said Taiga CEO Sam Bruneau. “With the sleds soon ready for the snow, we are excited by the idea of our customers being able to ride on these cutting-edge machines that embody winter exploration without compromise.”
Taiga has spent the last year focusing on increasing production rates through a series of build and testing phases targeted at boosting manufacturing efficiency and quality in critical areas such as battery automation, chassis systems, propulsion, and linked platforms. 2022 will allow Taiga to expand vehicle delivery across its product range by using its unique clean-sheet design, scalable technology, and perfected mass-production processes at its 130,000 sq. ft. Montreal plant.
Taiga has also been a driving force behind the electrification of off-road exploration. It announced the debut of its electric off-road charging network in the autumn, with on-water charging stations as the first stop. The Company just started building its first off-road charging stations as part of a trail loop through the Mauricie and Lanaudière areas of Québec’s woods. These first charging stations each include two Level 2 chargers and two Level 3 DC Fast Chargers, making this the world’s first long-distance snowmobile path with charging stations.
