Alaska was the birthplace of UnCruise Adventures and it continues to be wide open for exploration. Almost 25 years later, innovation continues to be at the core of our motto. We take your enjoyment seriously and are committed to veering off the beaten path in order to fully appreciate all that the world has to offer. Offices for UnCruise Adventures can be found in Juneau, Alaska, and Seattle’s famed Fishermen’s Terminal.
We are aware that ecosystems are delicate but essential environments. And we have firsthand knowledge of how our adventures affect the viability of regional communities. Our company’s mission statement includes a key goal of actively promoting environmental protection through programs that encourage responsible travel, education, and actions.
Our guests, who range in age from the young to the young-at-heart and come from a variety of backgrounds and vocations, exchange distinctive viewpoints and experiences while on board. They discover commonalities and make friends for life.
We began cruising in Alaska with a single yacht, but since then, we’ve expanded a little bit—adding more ships, visiting new places, and offering a wider range of itinerary options—but what hasn’t changed is the core of who we are and what we have to offer you. Memorable adventures in breathtakingly beautiful settings. It’s the people, the events, and the spirit of exploration.
We produce value that is unmatched. From the moment you contact us, you can count on receiving individualized service, subject-matter knowledge, and a variety of other advantages.
Every instance of racism, bigotry, and discrimination is condemned by UnCruise Adventures. In the struggle to halt systemic and passive racism, social injustice, and violence against the Black community and all those who experience racism, we stand in solidarity with our coworkers, members of the community, and leaders.
“Do the right thing,” “Be good to each other,” and “Get a little better every day” are three of our company’s core values. Although these words are a good place to start, we must always put our words into practice. We make a commitment to work toward eliminating racism, institutionalized oppression, and discrimination in our world today and every day.
The Captain
Captain Dan Blanchard is the real deal, in this case. Dan was raised in Washington State and has always lived and worked on boats. He spent years discovering narrow waterways, wandering secluded beaches, gathering clams and oysters, and learning to skin dive. He was genetically predisposed to a life on the water.
At age 16, Dan was a National Boatswain Mate and a Sea Scout. In 1999, he joined American Safari Cruise, and in 2008, he went on to acquire the company, launching Innersea Discoveries, now known as UnCruise Adventures. He received his ship master’s license at the age of 18, and since then, he has lived a storied life, from being the owner of Blanchard Marine to Captain of sightseeing ships to Director at Cruise West and Vice President of Operations.
He is a gifted storyteller, an avid hiker, a world traveler, an accomplished sailor, a lover of the ocean, and of the natural world. Everywhere he goes, he feels a connection to nature and culture, and in May 2013, he was adopted into a Tlingit tribe from Alaska. He’s living the dream he built around his passions and wouldn’t have it any other way.
