Managing director Mark Aitchison works for Baker Tilly’s real estate consulting services division. A seasoned tax expert, he offers financial solutions to investors, family offices, broker dealers, registered investment advisers (RIAs), and private equity companies. He specializes in tax-advantaged real estate, including opportunity zones and Delaware Statutory Trusts (DSTs). Mark has worked in the field for more than 20 years. Over the course of his career, he has dispersed over 50 financial offers totaling over $1 billion in value. Mark worked for financial services organizations as a vice president of sales for several years until joining Baker Tilly in 2019.
Through broker dealers, RIAs, family offices, and qualified investors, Mark is in charge of the structure and placement of DSTs and opportunity zone investments. He established cross-functional teams, created national sales for tax-related financial products, and supported financial advisers and their clients, all of which contributed to a remarkable increase in income. He also spent six years as an American Army soldier.
