The Executive Sweet, a high-performance premium line of hemp-based skin and body care products with carefully chosen clean-crafted and vegan ingredients, is the brainchild of Kevia Jones, the creator of the new age of skincare and wellness.
After going through her own challenges with anxiety, insomnia, and mental health issues, Kevia felt forced to change her life. Jones made the decision to take charge of her own recovery. Her well-being and health took precedence. Her life was saved by mindfulness, deliberate living, body awareness, and alternative medicine, and it then became clear that her role was to help others do the same. putting her work and effort into a well-known brand.
The Executive Sweet raises awareness of the advantages of adopting a different strategy for both your mental health and general wellness. These products are made from carefully processed hemp that are vegan, cruelty-free, and clean in composition.
Below are highlights of the interview conducted between World’s Leaders and Kevia Jones:
Describe who you are as a person, inside and outside of the workplace.
Inside the workplace, I would describe myself as an uber ambitious, driven, tunnel vision, goal-oriented person with all the confidence in the world who loves to work with others and has this contagious reassuring energy that reminds others that we can do whatever we decide to do.
Outside of the workplace, I am very down to earth, still a ball of energy but dedicated to new experiences, traveling, spending time with loved ones, and prioritizing my self-care. I live by knowing where to draw the line and creating healthy boundaries to maintain the balance of it all.
Describe your background and what did you do before you joined the company?
Before creating The Executive Sweet, I attended college, the military and eventually worked in corporate America (accounting/finance) for over 10 years. I began identifying my purpose in 2016 and started using my platforms to inspire others to overcome adversity and improve their overall wellness. Doing this led to teaching body awareness and breathwork to women and children.
Tell us about the inception of the company. How did it all start?
The Executive Sweet started when I found myself struggling with my mental health while trying to balance work, life, personal development, and the weight of society and the many expectations of me (us). My ability to work effectively was being affected by the side effects of prescription medication prescribed to manage a very common issue, anxiety. Being as ambitious as I am, I was not ever going to be satisfied with doing the bare minimum.
What has made you successful? What do you value?
Success for me is the ability to continue learning, growing, evolving, and giving myself permission to do and be all that I desire without regrets. I’m doing that and more. Executing this has made me extremely successful. I value time and freedom in every sense. I value having the courage to stand for what you believe while welcoming new and different perspectives.
Which are the major services/products of the company and how do the company to get ahead in the competition? What value-added services/products does the company provide?
The major products of The Executive Sweet are the variety of body butters (moisturizing creams), the instant relief oil (Roll UP), and our facial skincare kit. We plan to get ahead by staying true to our mission, having integrity, showing accountability while being inclusive, and allowing our clients and customers to have an active voice in how we grow and evolve as a company. Our signature events, which we call “safe spaces,” are custom experiences that we cultivate with our clients in mind. These services can range from outreach in the community, skincare educational services, yoga and meditation, or wine tasting while being educated on alternative approaches to health and wellness with the use of cannabis.
What are the most important aspects of a company culture? What principles do you believe in and how do you build this culture?
The most important aspect of The Executive Sweet’s culture is that we work hard, but self-care harder. I believe that you cannot give what you do not have mentally, personally or professionally. I also believe that you cannot teach what you do not know and you cannot lead where you do not go. We have built this culture by applying the things that we know and have allowed us to be an example of what we speak about when educating on wellness and fulfillment.
What is the significance of innovative ideas in the company?
It’s imperative that we be innovative as the beauty and wellness industry continues to grow and evolve. It also benefits our clients’ understanding and overall experience when we roll out innovative ideas.
Give us your opinion on; do organizations rely heavily on individual heroics or team processes?
I believe that an impactful and successful organization is carried by a team consisting of like-minded individuals but is initiated by an individual who had the courage to do it despite the challenges.
What are your responsibilities as the CEO/Founder of the company? What is the happiest part of your daily routine?
My responsibility as the CEO/Founder is to communicate effectively what the goals and intentions of the company are, as well as provide my team and partners with the necessary tools to execute. Because I am still very hands-on in the scaling phase of the company, it is also my responsibility to create a positive workspace for my team and to be reachable by our clients within reason to assure that they are comfortable with us. The happiest part of my daily routine is at the end of the day when I reflect or journal and count my blessings. I get to count our community twice. We wouldn’t be where we are without each and everyone of them.
What advice would you give someone going into a leadership position for the first time?
I would share, embrace being a student just as much, if not more, than being a teacher. Have an open mind but never lose sight of the mission and purpose. Lead by example and walk beside your team because if there’s no one following, what are you leading exactly?
