The CEO and chairman of the board, John M. Dowd, is in charge of Fiduciary Trust International’s management and strategic orientation. In addition to chairing the company’s executive, operating, and management committees, he is a member of the board of directors. He is also a member of the executive and management committees of Franklin Templeton, the parent business. John is a regular lecturer on wealth management subjects and has over thirty years of expertise in the field. John was the Northeast region’s executive vice president and senior managing director at Wells Fargo Wealth Management prior to joining Fiduciary Trust in 2016.
John worked with the Bank of New York for over twenty years before that, holding a number of positions such as chief trust officer and head of wealth management. John graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Business Administration after earning his Bachelor of Arts from Guilford College. He serves on the boards of North Capital Investment Technologies, Inc., the Metropolitan Opera Guild, and the Montclair Art Museum in addition to the UHNW Institute advisory board.
