The traditional POS sector in India is made up of legacy systems that include a point of sale billing computer, a payment module that accepts cards or cash, a printer, and back-office business management software to run a restaurant or retail store. These old Windows-based legacy POS systems are being phased out in favour of mobile, powerful Android-based all-in-one mPOS systems that include all four core components.
Intuition Systems is a cloud-based point of sale and ‘ERP lite’ software (SAAS) company that has built an all-in-one billing, payments, business management and business automation platform for restaurants and retail stores.
Below are the highlights of the interview conducted between World’s Leaders and the co-founder of Intuition Systems, Anand Asaithambi:
Tell us about how efficient your organization’s products and services are from an operational standpoint?
Although this is an emerging, high-growth industry, there is a huge need for robust software that can power these new android mPOS devices at an affordable cost. Our product IVEPOS software addresses this unmet need. IVEPOS is an easy-to-use, powerful, all-in-one Android-based POS and “ERP Lite” platform with more than 100+ features including billing, payments, and business management for restaurants and retail stores.
We have a disruptive, hi-tech, cloud-enabled POS and “ERP lite” platform with more than 100+ features that can be seamlessly integrated into a small 5.5″ mobile android POS or larger devices that can transform the POS hardware into a powerful all in one device and aggregator.
This can digitally empower all merchants, including micro-merchants, to build and run a successful business, perform complex ops, boost revenues, communicate with vendors and customers, and avail banking functionalities anywhere, anytime at an affordable cost vs. expensive management, and ERP software (SAP) available in the market. Previously, this is just not possible in India and not available for smaller merchants until now.
How effective is your organization’s strategic vision? What are the three things you would like to share about the company?
We currently have sold over 2000+ licences to restaurants, retail, and enterprise customers. Our vision is to become the leading all-in-one POS software company in Asia-pacific. We are targeting selling 2.5 million licences in the next 4 years. We are also planning to develop omni-channel, automation and e-commerce tools. We will explore expansion to the US and EU markets.
Our immediate goal is to expand our licencing and distribution partnerships in India and Asia-Pacific, increase our play store downloads and start deploying our e-commerce tools.
Brief our audience about your journey as a business leader and how long have you been associated with the organization?
Anand Asaithambi is a mechanical engineer and a serial entrepreneur with a specialisation in fin-tech and food-tech. He has more than 8 years’ experience in building his company. He co-founded Intuition Systems along with Arun Asaithambi as he realised a need for mobile POS in India and built the IVEPOS prototype. He is skilled in software app development, robotics, design, UI/UX, product management and marketing. Anand, along with his cofounder and team, put together the blueprint for the IVEPOS App. He successfully oversaw the launch of the three apps in the play store. He was leading the initial growth of the start-up from scratch. built the team, identified vendors, service partners, and channel partners. Along with his team, he brought the first 1000 customers within a short timeline. Previously, he co-founded Dosai Asai (now exited) with Arun Asaithambi. A semi-robotic and automatically-driven food chain makes dosai rolls. In DosaiAsai, he realised the need for a mobile and powerful POS system that eventually became Intuition Systems.
What is the direction and state of innovations in the company?
By building many licencing and distribution partners, and a robust e-commerce pipeline, we are planning to grow our brand. Our software engineers will continue to work on our flagship IVEPOS products, e-commerce, and data analytics modules. We are planning to expand our project team. We will have exclusive engineers working on innovative new verticals, R&D, B2B modules.
Does your organization’s corporate responsibility strategy match the availability of your current resources?
Our goal is to become the leading POS software platform company in Asia-Pacific. We are planning to expand our sales and OPS team for FY 21 and FY 22. We are planning to hire sales people. We will hire senior sales managers to lead our enterprise sales, bank sales, retail sales.
We are planning to expand our project team. Software engineers will continue to work on our flagship IVEPOS products, e-commerce, and data analytics modules. We will have exclusive software professionals working on innovative new verticals, R&D, and B2B modules.
We will also hire a level team to market our product offering to new geographies. We will hire people to manage the ops.
