CTO at Devo
Today, it’s cloud and AI, but along the way, I’ve had the good fortune to contribute to the development of new classes of technology and procedures to safeguard customers wherever they conduct business. I did this by creating and leading international SecOps, engineering, research, and consulting teams, revitalising and establishing high margin and lucrative business units, and offering Fortune 100 companies expert security advice.
Gunter Ollmann, a seasoned veteran in the field of information security, has successfully specified, delivered, and developed new security innovations for the defence of my own firm as well as many other companies across the globe.
Gunter has lived abroad for more than ten years, spending time in APAC (NZ), Europe (UK), and North America (USA), as well as providing security consulting services in more than 80 nations. He also has experience working with a wide range of company cultures.
Gunter has played a key role in bringing innovative technologies and services to market through start-ups, market-leading providers, and internationally renowned household brands. He is an experienced business leader, technologist, and researcher.
Gunter is a renowned consultant and researcher who holds several patents in the domains of cyber threat detection and mitigation. He has also supervised and aided in the creation of several hundred core technology patents created by his R&D teams. He had the honour of contributing to the creation of the first commercial training programmes in ethical hacking in 2000 and web application hacking in 2003. He also defined many of the penetration testing and security assessment methodologies that are currently in use worldwide and are included in programmes for industry certification like CISSP.
Gunter has contributed frequently and written columns for magazines like SC Magazine, SecurityWeek, Dark Reading, and CircleID over the years. He has also been cited or mentioned by hundreds of top print, radio, and television news outlets, including USA Today, The Financial Times, CNN, BBC, NPR, and Radio 4.
Initiatives
Devo Technology, a provider of cloud-native security analytics and logging, said today that it has raised $100 million in Series F investment, valued at $2 billion. Leading international investment group Eurazeo, which manages over $30 billion in assets, served as the round’s lead investor. All other current investors, including Insight Partners, Georgian, TCV, General Atlantic, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Kibo Ventures, also took part. ISAI Cap Venture also contributed a strategic investment to the deal. With this round, more than $500 million in cash has already been raised. The additional capital will speed Devo’s delivery of the “autonomous SOC,” support development in new geographies and business sectors, and support possible M&A expansion.
The fundraising round follows Devo’s acquisition of Kognos, the industry leader in AI-powered threat hunting, which was a critical step in delivering what Devo refers to as the autonomous SOC—complete visibility, automation, analytics, and open access to community knowledge and material.
