Starting a business in an existing market of security solution providers and making them believe in the product at an initial stage was definitely a challenge, as data is ruling the world and organizations do not want to mess up with their data or credibility by selecting a solution that may or may not help them achieve security parameters.
Mr. Chandra S. Pandey founded Seceon with the idea of developing a solution that is a one-stop shop-showing everything and everything that is necessary to safeguard a corporate environment, be it any known or new assaults that can be identified, prevented, and remediated in real-time at a single platform. He is the company’s founder and CEO and focuses on offering the most creative and dependable cyber security solutions that secure companies while empowering them to accelerate their growth.
Mr. Chandra has always focused on working closely with his team to achieve the goal and parameters. He always considered directly discussing the issue and focusing straight on the solution rather than just discussing the problem and waiting for it to make way for that.
Below are the highlights of the interview conducted between World’s Leaders and Mr. Chandra S. Pandey:
Describe Seceon offerings that address the needs of your customers.
From day one, we were completely focused on delivering the industry’s best comprehensive cybersecurity solution with minimum CAPEX and OPEX that helps to solve the real-time challenge for any customer, be it any small-sized organization or large enterprises belonging to any industry sector. We started in 2015 with the initial solution, aiSIEM, an artificial intelligence-based security incident and event management solution. Our solution is focused totally on behavior-based with machine learning and artificial intelligence as the core of the solution rather than any basic SIEM, which works more as a signature-based log analyzer tool by doing the basic signature-based decision. And later on, moving forward, we have aiMSSP and aiXDR.
What are the challenges you and your team at Seceon come across in your day-to-day operations?
Initially, when we started with the solution, it was known as the Seceon OTM (Open Threat Management) Platform in 2016. When we went to market, people initially did not understand what the solution was, so we came up with the name. Then we thought to sketch it out and know exactly what we were doing. We analyzed everything and found it came to the category base of SIEM solutions which were accepted into the market, but at the same time, what we developed was not only SIEM, it was something more than that. It has all the features that make sure to provide complete, comprehensive visibility without adding any silo solution. It is an all-in-one platform.
But, from the start, we never looked at what other existing solutions were doing, because if they were working with the right approach in the right direction, there would have been no attack cases like the SolarWinds, log 4 j, and many others that we heard about a few months ago. Our team at Seceon, from day one, was completely focused on deriving the innovative goal and achieving the parameter of making the world completely cyber secure by working on a complete, comprehensive solution that is not dependent on any other additional feature.
What people, what books, what life factors have influenced and impacted you?
I admire my mother the most. My mother was a farmer and always led the whole family from the front and was always clear and fair in her decision-making, which was accepted by all the concerned parties. She was one of the most diligent people I have come across in my life. She never had any desire for herself and always helped others with an open hand. She was always satisfied with her life.
I have read many books over the years and learned something from them. The following are some of the books I always refer to in my decision-making process.
- Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell
- Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap and Others Don’t by Jim Collins
- Predictably Irrational by Dr. Dan Ariely
These books clearly teach you that there is no shortcut to creating success. Being humble and connected with your team will help you achieve goals that most things are impossible to achieve. Mass thinking must be looked at carefully and be prepared to take a different path than the mass by remembering that the brain has been trained over thousands of years to take the easy way out.
Describe in detail the values and the work culture that drive Seceon.
We are a total digital organization from the beginning. Even in the pandemic, it did not affect us or our work or any transition. We were smoothly focused on our goal and enabling the people with their contributions to real projects.
We always believe in giving opportunities to young talents, as these young talents are the future of the coming generation and a stepping stone toward a cyber secure digital world. We provided a lot of opportunities for young talent during pandemics and grew our team size.
Where do you envision yourself being in the long run and what are your future goals for Seceon?
Seceon as the solution is futuristic, having multiple features present on a single platform. We want to create a lot of visibility and let people know why they actually need Seceon’s solution. We want to secure a lot of organizations, and currently, we have 5,600+ customers all around the globe. And with our solution, it won’t be difficult to have thousands of customers in the coming few years. And along with business growth, we also want to create a lot of employment opportunities, giving opportunities to young talent scaling with Seceon.
What would be your advice to budding business leaders?
Innovation is key to today’s world of digitalization. You never want to be a one-trick pony. Most organizations fail to recognize this and suffer as a result, while others continue to innovate and achieve greater success, and some devise strategies knowing full well that they cannot innovate and must instead acquire another innovative company in order to remain relevant to their customer base. I have seen all three of these scenarios play out in the industry.
If you want to start a business, you must be open to a lot of challenges and have the strength to overcome them, because not every day will be a golden one. But overcoming the challenge and providing the fulfillment leads the journey to a golden journey and establishes you as a great visionary leader.
