Combining expertise in AI, IoT, SaaS, and cyber security with market insight, Chaitra Vedullapalli, has driven billion-dollar expansion for Microsoft and Oracle. She founded Meylah, a thriving cloud services/technology company, from the ground up, and has grown and optimised businesses through large-scale digital transformations across complex, global environments.
Chaitra was recruited as an Oracle consultant. Her journey at Oracle helped her understand technology in all its glory, from development to licensing. She was responsible for drafting a Software Licensing Guide for Oracle software, still in use. However, she wished to work with Microsoft since they were able to impact a billion lives with technology.
“When the opportunity came calling, it was beyond exciting since there was a sheer enthusiasm to learn about creating a billion-dollar strategy, which Microsoft mastered,” says Chaitra. The shift from dismissing technology to now operating in the largest industry has been extraordinary. Today, at Meylah, her husband and Chaitra are striving to build an enterprise ready business to serve our customers with cloud and AI solutions.

What are the challenges you and your team at Meylah come across in your day-to-day operations?
There are three areas of challenges stemming from the world we are operating in. The three areas where I put a lot of my energy are:
- Remote Workforce Management – recruiting, nurturing and building their identity.
- Customer Acquisition – building right kind of marketing and sales funnels.
- Raising Investment – how to jointly raise investment to do co-selling with customers and partners.
What people, what books, what life factors have influenced and impacted you?
I read one book a month. Atomic Habits, Leading Executive Conversations, Anti Fragility, Think like a Monk, and Emotional Agility are some of my favorites. I listen to a lot of TED talks. I invest a lot of research around Economic Access and how it gets impacted.

Where do you envision yourself to be in the long run and what are your future goals for Meylah?
Every company in the market supports digital transformation. The key to being successful is to differentiate your offerings and service. I defy you to compete on the basis of price and capabilities. What would be your advice to budding business leaders?
The technology industry has not only taught me to adopt change but also embrace the rate of change. The rate of change in the industry is increasing by the hour and demands constant oversight of current trends. To combat stress and feeling overwhelmed, there are three key traits I believe each business woman should possess:
Situational leadership: This leadership strategy is extremely beneficial to be present and take decisions that a certain scenario requires. A situation assessment is based on data, people, behavior and outcomes you desire. In my journey, I have been able to embrace the rate of change and also serve the customers with least exhaustion by adopting this attribute.
Economic Access Creation: Access creation is another characteristic I passionately practice to unlock economic opportunities for people around you. My mantra is to help people achieve their highest level of growth on the Maslow’s pyramid.
Ultimately, acquiring emotional and relationship currencies to understand people and unlock blockers for them to realize their ultimate potential. I believe a leaders’ capabilities and achievements lie in the contentment of the people they are leading.
