The commercial, technical, and regulatory complexity that electric, gas, and water utilities face is increasing the industry’s pressure and rate of change. Aclara provides smart infrastructure solutions (SIS) to over 800 water, gas, and power utilities across the world. Smart metres and other field devices, advanced metering infrastructure, software and services from Aclara SIS let utilities foresee and adapt to changing conditions, efficiently use their distribution networks, and communicate with their consumers. ‘Energy Acuity: 263 Aclara Smart Grid Projects, 100 Executives, and 42 Supply Agreements are being tracked by Energy Acuity.’
The Aclara team works with utilities to help them manage change, find new ideas, and use data and new technology to provide more efficient and dependable services to their consumers. It combines new technology with data-driven solutions to forecast, plan, and respond to system conditions across electric, gas, and water distribution networks as an end-to-end smart infrastructure solutions (SIS) partner.
The company provides a full suite of solutions to utilities, including metres and edge devices, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), head-end and customer interaction software, installation services, and labour provision, with a single point of contact.
Aclara employs 1,700 workers that work with over 1,000 gas, water, and power utilities throughout the world. It collaborates with clients to deliver reliable and secure communications systems, as well as to improve situational awareness across their distribution networks beyond AMI. Customers may gain actionable knowledge and real-time visibility into their distribution networks, allowing them to improve operations and communicate with their customers to encourage energy efficiency and conservation.
Promising Innovation
The Aclara crew enjoys a good challenge. It enjoys collaborating with game-changing utilities that are attempting creative solutions to common problems—industry leaders who are looking for the “next way” to supply energy and natural resources. Innovative utilities focused on “why not?” ideas while also attempting to maximise the use of their existing distribution systems.
Not one-way solutions, but the proper and clever combination of communications networks and tools, smart metres, sensors, software, and apps that we create, integrate, install, and maintain in ways as unique as each of our clients’ demands. Aclara knows how to put together the proper solution with the industry’s widest portfolio of utility smart infrastructure solutions (SIS) technologies created and acquired over the last 45 years.
Aclara is partnering with its clients to help them navigate the challenging and uncertain road ahead by offering the proper intelligence, solutions, and assurance. As they drive their businesses ahead, the company guarantees to walk beside them on the same road, advising and implementing the finest solutions.

Leadership
Allan manages the Hubbell Utility Solutions (HUS) Group’s business units as President. Connolly joined Hubbell in February 2018 as part of the company’s purchase. He directed the company’s strategic direction as President and was essential in executing the company’s strategic strategy, which positioned the brand for development in the United States and globally. When Sun Capital bought Aclara from ESCO Technologies in May 2014, he became the company’s president and CEO. He was key in developing Aclara as a stand-alone, privately held firm with good financials and implementing a strategy plan setting Aclara for development, which led to Hubbell Incorporated’s recent acquisition.
Connolly was formerly the chief operating officer of Culligan International, a global leader in the water treatment sector, where he was in charge of the $500 million business as well as the fast-growing Industrial Water Treatment division. He was in charge of Culligan’s engineering, R&D, production, quality, and supply chain responsibilities as COO. He formerly worked for GE and BHP Billiton, where he earned extensive worldwide leadership expertise.
Connolly holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wollongong in Australia, as well as a PhD in control systems engineering from the Australian National University.
“As a provider of smart infrastructure solutions, Aclara can also be considered a leader in civic tech, which has been described as the bridge between government’s mission and modern technology’s potential,” said Allan Connolly, Aclara’s President, and CEO. “Our focus is on providing utilities with leading-edge solutions and a single point of accountability from initial planning to implementation and beyond.”
