Aman Sharma, the CoFounder & CTO at Lamatic.ai, is a 25-year-old, highly passionate, serial tech entrepreneur and thought leader. With a knack for identifying intricate problems and solving them using engineering solutions, Aman believes in creating products that not only generate profits but also create impact and add value for others.
Prior to his current ventures, Aman built three startups and launched over a dozen digital/AI products. He has held positions as a machine learning researcher at TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), a UX/AI lead at upsell.ai, and was the founding lead at Mobile-web.dev. Active within the DevOps and AI community, he has delivered over 50 tech talks, shared advice on product building, and mentored hundreds of young entrepreneurs in technology and entrepreneurship, earning recognition as a top CTO in India.
Aman’s most recent venture was the Singapore-based market research platform, Twimbit, which he scaled from zero to a multi-million dollar venture. Following his exit from his last company in 2022, he embarked on a quest to explore new problems and assemble a team of exceptional individuals.
In his leadership role, Aman’s primary responsibility is to translate customer business problems into AI engineering solutions, guiding the engineering team in developing these capabilities. His favorite part of the day is his morning routine, which includes 5 minutes of meditation followed by 5 minutes of journaling, a time he finds ripe for generating interesting ideas and planning his day.
Below are highlights of the interview conducted between World’s Leaders and Aman Sharma:
Tell us about the inception of the company. How did it all start?
Aman met Charles through YC Co-founder Match, and they immediately felt a strong cofounder connection. After working remotely for a few months, Aman moved to Miami. They started working on a Consumer GenAI App called Dinnerfy.com, which automates dinner menus and grocery ordering. Within six months, they built and launched the app, quickly attracting over 2000 users in one week and winning the #2 product of the day on Product Hunt. However, while building Dinnerfy, they realized the challenges in building GenAI apps and finding the right talent. While Dinnerfy continued to grow with minimal intervention, they pivoted to a new idea: Lamatic. It’s a fully managed Low Code No Code LLM integration platform that connects SaaS products with LLM over their real-time data. They quickly validated the need and started securing multiple deals. Lamatic is now delivering initial use cases and building their MVP, while the customer base continues to expand.
What has made you successful? What do you value?
Aman credits his growth-minded attitude as the key to his success. He values learning from failures, adopting a ‘fail fast’ methodology to rapidly iterate and accomplish more in less time. He emphasizes team effort and problem-solving. For Aman, defining the problem is more crucial than finding the solution. He believes in focusing energy on identifying the core problem, as the solution often emerges naturally. Being an engineer at heart, he is constantly exploring new technologies and optimizing solutions. He also believes in positive-sum games and sharing successes and opportunities with others.
Which are the major services of the company, and how does the company stay ahead in the competition? What value-added services does the company provide?
Lamatic aims to be a game-changer in leveraging LLM for businesses. It provides tools and pathways for businesses to harness the power of AI. Building AI products typically requires expensive talent and time-consuming technology adoption. Lamatic offers a more cost-effective, turnkey solution for SaaS products looking to integrate AI into their offerings. They have integrations with various Language Models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama, Gemini, Mistral, etc.) and data sources, simplifying the process of building and maintaining custom solutions. Their standout feature is customer support, with dedicated assistance available through a private Slack channel.
What are the most important aspects of a company’s culture? What principles do you believe in, and how do you build this culture?
Aman believes that a great company culture stems from a great founding team. Team members should see their work as more than just a job; their personal goals and aspirations should align with the company’s vision. This alignment fosters constant motivation and shapes the company culture as a collective expression of individual personalities.
What is the significance of innovative ideas in the company?
Innovation is crucial at Lamatic, especially in realizing the potential of GenAI through a no-code solution accessible to any team without requiring LLM expertise. They constantly add new, cutting-edge features to help companies maximize the benefits of GenAI.
Do organizations rely heavily on individual heroics or team processes?
Aman believes in the power of team processes. While strong leadership is essential, it takes a great team to bring initiatives to fruition. He advocates for collaborative effort, emphasizing the value of a diverse but unified team in building a successful business.
What advice would you give someone going into a leadership position for the first time?
Aman advises new leaders to start with what they have and improvise along the way. He believes that improvisation is more effective than thorough planning. It’s important to have a clear idea of the immediate next step and a rough plan for the subsequent one. He encourages leaders to have confidence in their ability to figure things out, learn from failures, and surround themselves with successful, smart individuals for guidance and inspiration.
