Tell us about your background and what did you do before you started/joined the No Boundaries Marketing Group?
Prior to starting No Boundaries Marketing Group, I had an amazing career working for a large marketing company based in the mid-west. For nearly a decade, I learned the ins-and-outs of the marketing and advertising game. I learned to utilise a variety of platforms, tools, and resources to help provide my clients with a competitive advantage in their respective areas.
One challenge that I experienced working on the corporate side of things is that I was only able to provide my clients with a set list of services, even though their needs might be far greater than what the company I worked for provided. I spent a fair amount of time trying to fit my clients into a specific box and learned over time that there was a better way! There is seldom any strategy involved and cookie cutter plans are only so effective. Sure, they can get a business off the ground, but the long term solution just isn’t there.
Our current business model affords us to truly go where few marketing companies are capable of going. We pride ourselves on creating truly customised marketing strategies that work in synergy with one another. Whether it is a website build and SEO, or maybe a PPC campaign with a social media content strategy, we pull out all the stops for our clients to create transparent results!
Do you think there is a place for traditional advertising? If so, in which scenarios or for which businesses?
Traditional advertising absolutely still has a place in today’s marketing mix. Having a diverse marketing strategy should always have a mix of digital, traditional, and non-traditional marketing elements. Understanding what that looks like is very personal to each individual business.
How do you keep updated on marketing trends, tools and techniques?
To keep updated on marketing trends, tools, and techniques, our staff is required to take 1 hour per week of continuing education to refine their skills! Staying on top of new trends, tools, and resources is extremely important to ensuring we are providing the best solutions and service to our clients.
What elements does a marketing campaign need in order to be successful?
Diversification. A successful marketing campaign or strategy doesn’t consist of just one or two elements. There isn’t one lead source that will make or break a business. Consumers typically visit multiple areas such as search, social, websites, and more before selecting a business. Making sure that these elements are all working in synergy is the key to a successful marketing campaign. A saying that we use often in the office is “You get one shot to make a great first impression!”
What differentiates you from the other marketing firms?
Our dedication to service, transparency, and results is what differentiates us from the competition. I am confident in saying very few marketing firms locally and nationally provide the level of transparency that we do. It is something that we pride ourselves on… Good, bad, or indifferent, we show clients exactly what is happening on their campaign 24/7. This is what opens our clients up to healthy conversations with clients taking a more proactive role in their campaigns.
What contextual factors do you take into account when providing services to your clients’?
Before recommending a particular product or service to a client, we first have to get to know their business and what makes them tick! Our marketing consultants conduct an extensive audit of the clients’ current digital presence and complete an exhaustive interview to better familiarise themselves with the business. We look at everything from historical performance, prior marketing campaigns, business goals, and so on. This also helps set realistic expectations with clients when it comes to discussing potential outcomes from a campaign.
What career advice would you give to new leaders who are interested in working in marketing?
The marketing and advertising space has certainly changed over the last few years! Technology has created numerous efficiencies and struggles for businesses. Having a dedicated focus on continuing education is a must!
